Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Location: Silver Lake Police Department

Position Type: Part- to Full-Time

Job Description: Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional looking to serve your community? The Police Department of Silver Lake is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our dedicated team.

Responsibilities: 

– Perform general administrative tasks, including answering phones, filing, and data entry in the regional law enforcement computer system.

– Operate standard office equipment (fax machines, copiers, etc.).

– Assist with bookkeeping and tracking of the department’s budget.

– Maintain law enforcement records, court records and public records.

– Stock department inventory.

– Compose a variety of reports and records requiring independent judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness.

– Communicate with area agencies and courts.

– Distribute court orders for sealed and expunged cases.

– Maintain warrant files.

– Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements:

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

– Experience with standard office equipment including fax, copier, and phone system.

– Basic bookkeeping skills.

– Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.

– A willingness to learn new software programs.

– Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

– Excellent written and oral communication skills.

– Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring physical mobility.

– Must pass a BCI/FBI background check and have a valid driver’s license.

These qualifications are not all-inclusive but allow for parameters in the selection process.

Hourly Wage: $21.46
