I have received several calls and emails expressing gratitude for the natural gas rates offered by our Village aggregation plan. While natural gas rates continue to rise at alarming rates, the Village, in 2020, secured a low $2.85/mcf rate, good for 4 years, through March, 2024. If you are a member of our aggregation program, [...]
The VTG committee continues to meet on a regular basis as they work on plans and designs for the tribute garden. The VTG committee consists of John Schluep (chairman), Denny Stoiber, Barb Oldham, Rosalie Goshen, Mike Thorson and Bob Steiner. (I serve as an ex-officio member.) With the sidewalks nearly impossible to use because of the snow build-up, they are often forced to walk in the [...]
Because Kimble was unable to work yesterday, trash service will be delayed this week. Trash pick-up this week will be on Saturday, 1/22, not on Friday, 1/21.
Please be patient as our service department works on clearing snow from our streets. At most, we have only 3 snow removal trucks working in the Village. Given our limited resources, we are quite proud of the fact that our streets are usually cleared much faster than neighboring communities. Yesterday one of our trucks got [...]
Both the Silver Lake and Crystal Lake Boards of Trustees have issued warnings to stay off the lakes during the winter. Even if there appears to be ice on the lake, stay off. The thickness of the ice is never known; if you are on it, it may break at any time. For your own [...]
