The final centennial celebration will be held on Sunday, October 7. It will be a Village Centennial Celebration Birthday Party. This event is open to all, and is free of charge to all residents. The day will start with a softball game for all interested persons at noon at the baseball field by the picnic shelter. Bring your bats and gloves. We will then move to the gazebo at 2pm for the continued celebration of our centennial. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs, water, lemonade, totem pole wood-carving, popcorn, cotton candy, touch-a-truck from the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and the Silver Lake Service Department, train rides with William Lodge, caricature drawings, a live band and the balloon lady. Bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on. Again, all this is free, courtesy of the fund-raising activities of the centennial committee and the support of residents for its various projects and events. The festivities are scheduled to end at 5pm. Rain or shine, it should be a great day. See you at the party!
