Residents are reminded that open fires are governed by Village ordinances. In general, open fires are not permitted in the Village. Open fires cannot be used used to burn trash or unwanted materials. Open fires are generally allowed only for cooking food for human consumption. Bonfires are permitted by permit only. Any open fire allowed must be 25 feet from any building or other combustible material. Fumes given off by fires are not allowed to drift into neighboring homes. For complete details, see section 1511 in the Village ordinances. Violators of this ordinance will be cited.
